The movie is about a girl named Coraline Jones who moves to Oregon with her parents into the Pink Palace Apartments. The place is divided into three with other tenants. She lives a boring life there till she discovers a small door. The door leads to an alternate world much like hers but much more fun and full of buttoned eyes. Coraline discovers the dark secrets to this parallel world that she has stumbled upon.
The story line for this movie was kind of cheese and the twist was pretty predictable with the mom controlling this new world. They however did portray an 11 year old Coraline Jones very well making her over emphasize things she said and aggravated towards everything in her life. One pro I do have about the movie is that the graphics were phenomenal, I really enjoyed watching it. They also used an excellent job with colours helping to set the moods of the environments and moods of the characters from the lack of colours to a vast amount.
Overall I did not mind the movie but at the same time did not enjoy it much. If you buy the dvd you can watch it in 2D or 3D. It’s a real kids movie.
